PowerPoint slide insertion fails with an error message

Users successfully install and authenticate the Lookup for Microsoft Office add-in inside PowerPoint and can fully utilize the Responsive side pane to search, filter, and preview available slides. However, when inserting or applying a chosen slide directly into the active presentation deck, the operation fails and returns an error message.

Cause

While structural data layouts and search queries load via standard user interface (UI) web channels, the actual binary slide payload extraction and presentation injection requests route through a specialized asset delivery API endpoint.

In highly secured corporate networks, corporate firewalls, proxy layers, or tenant security gateways frequently block this specific asset delivery endpoint. Client-side caching cleanups or session re-authentications won't resolve this condition since it's enforced at the network protocol layer.

Resolution

Coordinate with your internal Network Security and IT Infrastructure teams to explicitly whitelist the following backend file delivery endpoint within your corporate firewall, proxy configurations, and gateway inspection rulesets: HTTP https://app.rfpio.com/rfpserver/office-addin/get-file/*
Note: Ensure the wildcard trailing asterisk * is included to encompass all dynamically generated asset token strings.
