Marking Tables as Answer Types
Updated 3 months ago

Overview

This feature allows you to mark entire Word tables as answers, or mark rows and columns of a Word table or Excel spreadsheet as answers. Instead of identifying each cell as a question or sub-question, you can mark the entire table as an answer. The table appears in the Response field of the project.

You can also make certain columns or rows un-editable. This is a great feature for financials or responding to large tables that require figures or numbers. It also prevents an issue where an answer cell includes a table, causing the table to be exported twice.

Marking Tables as Answer Types

  1. Do one of the following:

    • To mark an entire Word table as one answer, highlight the entire table by clicking the icon and then select Answer > Mark Table as Answer.

    • To mark rows and columns of Word tables or Excel spreadsheet as answers, highlight the rows and columns you want to include and select Answer > Mark Table as Answer to mark those parts of the table as a single answer.

  2. After importing the file you can add rows to the bottom of the table.

    • These additional rows are included in the export.

    • You can delete these additional rows after the import, but not the original rows that were brought in during import.
