Note: Fields marked with red are mandatory fields.

Note: Avoid Salesforce field names that begin or end with "Is" or "Id". These are treated as reserved keywords by Responsive's internal query system and are intentionally excluded from the mapping drop-down. A field named this way will not be selectable when you map it in Responsive.

  8. Specify the field level security, then click Next.

  9. Select the layouts you want to add the custom fields to, then click Save.
Note: To save this custom field and create a new custom field, click Save & New.

The newly added custom field will be displayed in the Fields & Relationships section as shown below:

Repeat a similar process to create custom fields for Leads and Accounts.

Mapping custom fields from Responsive

Custom fields created in Salesforce should be mapped to project custom fields in Responsive so they appear during project creation and in reports.

  1. Go to Organization Settings > Project > Custom Fields and click Create New.
Org Settings - Response Projects - Custom Fields.png

  2. Select the category for the custom field.

  3. Specify the Merge Tag Name.

  4. Enter a Display Name for the custom field.

  5. Specify a Group Name.

  6. Select the Project Type for which the custom field has to be created.

  7. Select the Type of the field response.

  8. Check the Required box to make the field mandatory.

  9. Check the Associate with Salesforce (instance) box to associate the field with Salesforce. A section as shown below will be displayed:

  10. Select the custom field you want to associate with the object from the Salesforce Fields drop-down list. Click Create when you are finished.

When creating projects in Salesforce, the mapped field will be included.

Examples:

  • If you create a custom field in Salesforce and do not mark it as required, you can set it as required when you map it in Responsive. When it appears in Responsive, it will be required.

  • When you create the new Salesforce associated project from Responsive, the value for the custom field created for that object type will be automatically populated in the field.
