Note: Our content tool does not store customer data, but it is processed by their servers. The servers are hosted in AWS in the US.
We provide a spelling and grammar checker for any field with the Basic or Full Rich Text toolbar (only responses in full and basic rich text fields will be checked; the tool will not examine anything else). This feature is available for Projects, Section Templates, and the Content Library; it is not available for guests.
Once enabled:
You can select the variety of English you use, so the text in your documents is analyzed for any writing or grammatical issues or spelling errors within that variety. Available options include:
General English
US English
British English
Australian English
Canadian English
The spelling and grammar checker can be turned on and off by by clicking the Spellcheck and Grammar icon on the toolbar.
Note: If the Spelling and Grammar Checker is disabled at the Organization level, you will have a spell checker but no grammar checker. Contact your organizations admin to have it enabled.
The tool automatically marks words that are not spelled correctly or are not grammatically correct. While hovering over the marked text, it displays corrected text options in a pull-down menu that can be used to replace it. Also, words can be added to the Dictionary so they are not marked in the future.
Use case: You want to provide a professional response to a questionnaire, and reduce the risk of content being misunderstood due to the mistakes in the text.
You can set your spell check language preference at the project level, and it stays applied until you change it. This is per-user, so teammates working on the same project can each use their own preference (for example, US English vs. UK English).
To set your preferred language for a project:
From the Sections page of your project, click Menu and select Project Settings.
Scroll down to the Spellcheck and Grammar section and choose our language from the dropdown menu.
Click Save. The preference remains until you change it again.
Click the Spellcheck and Grammar icon on the toolbar.
Respond to the potential errors:
Note: The Spelling and Grammar Checker marks potential errors differently depending on the type of error.
