Using Responsive's TRACE Score™ in Guided Projects
Updated 2 days ago

Overview

The TRACE Score™ in Guided Projects ensures that the AI-generated answers are reliable, complete and help you evaluate the quality of AI-generated answers. After auto-answering, each response is rated across five key dimensions: Trustworthy, Relevant, Accurate, Complete, and Explainable. This provides transparency and builds confidence in AI-generated content.

See Using Responsive's TRACE Score™ for more information.

Using Responsive's TRACE Score™ in Guided Projects

Once auto-answering is completed for a question, the score automatically appears alongside the generated response (for text answers only). You don’t need to take any action to see the score.

Each dimension contributes up to 20 points. The highest possible TRACE Score is 100, indicating a high-quality response. A higher score generally means less manual review is required. The color of the indicator shows the lowest-performing dimension (for example, if all the dimensions are green except for Trustworthiness, which is amber, the indicator will be amber).

Responsive will display a badge notification for each dimension that goes below 12, so you know to check them. Hover over the indicator to see a tooltip with the dimensions you need to review.

Click the TRACE label or the Score icon Trace icon.png to see a detailed breakdown of each scoring dimension. Click outside the pop-up to close the expanded view.

After reviewing the score, you can revise the response to improve its quality. You can do this either manually or using Responsive AI.

  • If you used AI Assistant to modify the response, the TRACE Score™ displays a Refresh icon. Click it to re-run the score and view updated results.

  • If you made a manual edit, the TRACE Score™ becomes disabled and a tooltip message appears to indicate that the score is no longer applicable.
