Retaining section numbers within projects

Overview

While configuring documents during the import process, you have the option to retain section numbers via Advanced Options.

Advanced Options is available for Word documents only.

Retaining section numbers within projects

1. Once you have loaded your file, click Advanced Options and check the Retain Section Numbers checkbox.
   

2. Click Apply. Once enabled, you can view the section numbers in the Sections list.
   

Troubleshooting

Section numbers not retained when importing a ProposalTech (Word-based) project

If section numbers are not retained during the import of a ProposalTech (Word-based) project, it is typically because the numbering is embedded within block or table formatting rather than stored as standard Word numbering.

To resolve the issue:

• During import, select Advanced Options and enable Retain Section Numbers.

• Ensure the source document is based on a standard ProposalTech template, as non-standard templates may not be automatically recognized.

• If the numbering is embedded within block or table formatting, update the section numbers manually after the import.

• If the issue continues with a standard ProposalTech template, contact support@responsive.io and include the source Word document so the Support team can investigate the import behavior.
