The user account provided to Responsive for connecting with Salesforce must have the following access:
View All and Read Access to objects with which projects can be associated
Full access to RfpioDetails object present in Salesforce
API Access
Access to Responsive Custom Setting Definitions
Access to Chatter
Responsive Manage package has a permission set Rfpio Data Sync which can be assigned to this user account. Additional object permission might be needed if a project is associated with objects others than account/lead/opportunity.
Yes, you can associate projects with any object in Salesforce. You can associate with default object types such as Lead, Account, Opportunity as well as any custom object type created in Salesforce. This can be done from Organization Settings > Integrations > CRM > Salesforce configuration page. See Configuring the Salesforce Integration in Responsive for more information.
Yes, you can connect with your Salesforce sandbox environment by specifying the sandbox URL (https://test.salesforce.com) as the Salesforce URL in Organization Settings > Integration > CRM > Salesforce configuration.
Yes, this can be achieved by modifying Salesforce layout. Visualforce page can be added to a layout and can be made available to specific users.
The exported package gets published in the Chatter feed. For example, if you have exported a project associated with an opportunity, you can find the exported package as a zipped file in that opportunity’s page.
In Responsive's Organizations Settings, you can configure auto-publishing of export package by selecting the Auto-Publish Package to Salesforce checkbox.
If selected, export response packages will be auto-published to Salesforce. The response package exported in Responsive will be displayed in Salesforce as an attachment as shown below for the associated object:
If not selected, you can manually publish export response packages at the project level. This option will be available at Project level only when Salesforce is connected at the Organization Settings.
All project metadata is available for reporting in Salesforce. The fields that are pushed to Salesforce can be configured at the individual field level. You can create a field in RfpioDetails in Salesforce, and then configure the field mapping in Responsive custom fields.
From Salesforce's Responsive Custom Objects page, select RfpioDetails > Custom Fieldsand Relationships > AddNew Custom Field. You can add the fields that has to be populated in the report generated from Responsive. Add the created field to the object layout.
Next, you must map the created fields from Responsive's Organization Settings >Project > Custom Fields > Add New. While adding ensure to select the checkbox Associate to Salesforce and select the custom field in Salesforce that the field in Responsive should be mapped to. Once mapped, the custom field will be displayed in Salesforce reports.
See Configuring Reports and Dashboards - Salesforce (Classic) or Configuring Reports and Dashboards - Salesforce (Lightning) for more information.
The following features will not work:
Creating projects in Responsive and associating with Salesforce object.
Pulling information from Salesforce at regular intervals to keep Responsive data in sync with Salesforce.
Pushing Responsive Project information to Salesforce for reporting.
Published export packages will not be available in Salesforce.
Field mapping cannot be updated (however, existing field mapping will function).
This is expected behavior. The Owner field in Salesforce represents the Salesforce user account used to connect Responsive to Salesforce, not the user who created the project in Responsive.
If you want your reports to display the project creator's name, create a custom field in Salesforce and map it to a corresponding custom field in Responsive.
To display the project creator's name:
Create a custom field in Salesforce.
Go to Setup > Platform Tools > Object Manager.
Select the ResponsiveDetail object.
Navigate to Fields & Relationships > New.
Create a Text field (for example, Project Creator Name) and save it.
Map the field in Responsive.
Go to Organization Settings > Project > Custom Fields.
Click Add New and create a custom field with the same name.
Enable Associate to Salesforce and select the Salesforce custom field you created.
Save the mapping.
After the mapping is configured, the project creator's name will populate in the mapped field for future records and can be included in Salesforce reports.
Salesforce field names that begin or end with "Is" or "Id" are treated as reserved keywords by Responsive's internal query system, so they are intentionally excluded from the mapping drop-down. To make the field selectable, rename the Salesforce field so it does not start or end with "Is" or "Id", then map it again in Responsive.
A: On the Salesforce AppExchange listing for the Responsive managed package (Lookup for Responsive), the Last Security Reviewed Version shows as 1.40.0 (December 26, 2016), while the latest available version is 1.54.0 (November 27, 2025).
The Last Security Reviewed Version reflects the most recent version that completed Salesforce's formal AppExchange Security Review. Salesforce does not re-run this review or update this field for every later release, especially for maintenance updates and enhancements that don't require a new review under its policies. As a result, the listing on its own is not a complete picture of the current version's security.
Responsive continues to evaluate and maintain the security of later releases through its internal security and development practices and, where applicable, independent assessments.
For additional security assurance, contact your Responsive Customer Success Manager or the Support team. Where appropriate, and subject to our security and compliance policies, we can share relevant security documentation, including available summaries and compliance materials, under a mutually executed non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
No. The Responsive-Salesforce integration is designed to sync data fields (such as Opportunity, Account, and mapped custom fields) and to export completed response packages from Responsive back to Salesforce. It does not automatically import or ingest document attachments (PDF, Word, Excel) from a Salesforce record into Responsive.
How to bring Salesforce documents into Responsive:
Since the integration does not auto-import attachments, use one of the following supported methods:
Manual Import: Download the document from the Salesforce record and upload/import it directly into your Responsive project.
Attach During Intake: When submitting a bid request or intake from Salesforce, attach the required documents to the intake form so they are available when the project is created.
Content Library Upload: If the document is reference material, upload it directly to the Content Library.
Key Takeaways:
Inbound (Salesforce to Responsive): Syncs field metadata only; does not sync file attachments.
Outbound (Responsive to Salesforce): Exports completed response packages as zipped attachments to the associated Salesforce object.
