This article explains how to use the Export to Responsive option in Responsive LookUp extension to answer third-party portal questionnaires.
Note: If you have not installed the extension yet, start with the installation, then return here.
Export to Responsive lets you pull a questionnaire out of a portal and into Responsive as a project, so your team can author, review, and finalize responses before applying them back to the portal.
Working with Export to Responsive has two stages:
1. Export the questionnaire to Responsive and complete it. The extension detects the questionnaire's sections and questions and imports them into a Responsive project. From there, you can use Responsive's authoring and review workflows to draft, collaborate on, and finalize responses at the project or section level.
2. Apply the responses back to the portal. Once your responses are finalized, you return to the portal, relaunch the extension, and auto-fill the completed answers into the web form.
The two procedures below walk through each stage.
Start by exporting the questionnaire and completing it with your team in Responsive.
1. Open the portal and launch the Responsive LookUp Chrome/Edge extension.
2. Click Export to Responsive. The extension detects the sections and questions and imports them into a Responsive project.
3. Go to Projects in Responsive to open the exported questionnaire.
4. Collaborate with your team using the author-reviewer workflow to draft and review responses.
5. Complete the required sections, or the entire project.
Once your responses are finalized in Responsive, return to the portal to apply them.
Return to the portal and launch the Responsive LookUp extension.
Click Recent Projects then select the project you completed.
Click Apply Answers to auto-fill the responses into the portal. To apply everything at once, use Apply all answers.
(Optional) Click Details to view additional information for a question.
(Optional) Download and add attachments manually, if required.
Note: Sections that are not marked complete display Awaiting answers instead of Apply Answers, indicating that the section is not yet completed in the project.
A clear indication is shown in Responsive when a project is created from a web portal.
All related activities are logged for tracking purposes.
Export to Responsive discovers newly revealed conditional questions and sub-questions during processing and adds them to the Responsive project while preserving the original question and section hierarchy.
