Using Proposal Builder discussions

Overview

Discussions is a collaboration feature built into your Proposal Builder. It facilitates communication and streamlines the proposal creation process and keeps everyone informed and engaged with two dedicated discussion channels:

  • Internal discussions: Foster clear communication and efficient decision-making within your team.
    Note: Internal discussions are available only to your team and are not visible to proposal recipients.
  • External discussions: Collaborate effectively with proposal recipients, keeping them informed and engaged anytime during the proposal process.

Posting Proposal Builder discussions

Posting internal discussions

Internal discussions can be initiated when adding content to the proposal during Step 2: Content of the proposal building process.
Note: Discussion can be initiated only after a section has been created or added to the proposal.

  1. Click Discussions [i] Discussions Icon.png and enter your message. You can:
    • Click @ and select a user form the list to tag a user.
    • Click # and select a section reference from the drop-down list. This creates a hyperlink that let's users navigate directly to the referenced section.
    • Click [i] Attachment - Paperclip.png to attach a file from your computer or any available cloud storage options.
  2. Click Send.
  3. Take the following actions on posted discussions as necessary:
    • Click React [i] Add Reaction - Emoji.png and select the desired reaction emoji to react to a post or reply.
    • Click Resolved [i] Resolve Discussion.png to mark a discussion thread as resolved and hide it from view.
    • Click the Filter by drop-down and select Resolved to view resolved discussions.
    • Click Reopen [i] Reopen Discussion.png on a discussion to reopen it.
    • Click the three-dot menu and select Edit Discussion to edit your post or reply or Delete Discussion to delete them.
    • Click Hide Replies to collapse a discussion thread and View thread to see collapsed discussions.

Posting external discussions

Proposals must be ready to be shared before you can initiate external discussions.

  1. Click Discussions [i] Discussions Icon.png and switch to the External Discussions tab.
  2. Click Confirm on the pop-up to continue, then enter your message. You can:
    1. Click @ and select a user form the list to tag a user.
    2. Click # and select a section reference from the drop-down list. This creates a hyperlink that let's users navigate directly to the referenced section.
    3. Click [i] Attachment - Paperclip.png to attach a file from your computer or any available cloud storage options.
  3. Click Send.

Managing discussions

You can take the following actions on posted discussions as necessary:

  • Click React [i] Add Reaction - Emoji.png and select the desired reaction emoji to react to a post or reply.
  • Click Resolved [i] Resolve Discussion.png to mark a discussion thread as resolved and hide it from view.
  • Click the Filter by drop-down and select Resolved to view resolved discussions.
  • Click Reopen [i] Reopen Discussion.png on a discussion to reopen it.
  • Click the three-dot menu and select Edit Discussion to edit your post or reply or Delete Discussion to delete them.
    Note: You can also click the Trash icon (if available) to delete discussions.
  • Click Hide Replies to collapse a discussion thread and View thread to see collapsed discussions.
