Overview
When a questionnaire asks that you select one answer from a row across multiple columns, use a multi-column drop-down as the answer type. Users can choose the multi-column drop-down answer type while configuring the Excel file.
Question 1 has four possible responses in columns B, C, D, and E and you are being asked to provide your response in one of the columns to fulfill the question requirements.
Select the applicable tab for your edition of Responsive.

Using Multi-Column Drop-Downs as Answer Types in Excel
- Select the Answer column and map it with ANSWER from the right menu options.
- The Answer Configuration pop-up appears. Change the Answer Header to Response.
- Select Multi-Column Dropdown as Answer Type.
- Add the required answer options. You can add multiple options by selecting Add Answer Options and click Save.
- Click Save and then Import.
- After import, you can answer the question by selecting an option from the drop-down in the Response section as shown below and then export the responses.
The exported file displays as shown below:

Using Multi-Column Drop-Downs as Answer Types in Excel
- Select the Answer column and map it with ANSWER from the right menu options.
