Using the Seismic Enablement Cloud with Responsive

Overview

The Seismic integration is an add-on feature and must be enabled prior to use. Contact your account manager, or accountmanagers@responsive.io, to enable it.

Permissions

Admins with access to Organization settings can enable federated search from Organization Settings > Integrations > Collaboration > Seismic and select Configure.

Select the applicable tab for your edition of Responsive.

  • Attaching a File Stored in Seismic

    1. To attach a file stored in Seismic to a section, Q&A pair, or other, click the Attach icon.
    2. A pop-up box with your file repositories is displayed. Click Seismic.
    3. Navigate to the file.
    4. Select the checkbox of the file you want to attach, and then Add.

    Adding Files to the Content Library from Seismic

    1. To add files to the Content Library, click the + New icon at the top of the page, and then select Document(s). You may be prompted to specify the Business Unit (BU).
    2. The Add Document(s) pop-up appears. Select Seismic. Navigate to the files you want to add and select their checkboxes.
    3. Select the document and click Add.
    4. Click Next.
    5. Specify the properties for the first file. Select the subsequent files and update them in turn, or select Apply the same properties to all Documents. When you are finished, Upload.

      The files will appear in the Content Library with the Seismic logo.

    Uploading Files for Projects

    You can upload files as project documents or attach them to individual sections.

    Uploading Files as Project Documents

    1. Navigate to the Project Documents page, and then click + Add Files.
    2. Select Seismic, and navigate to the files as described previously. Select the checkboxes for the files, and then click Add. The files will be added to the project documents.
    3. Select Properties from a file's menu. You can add the file to the Document Library, and change it from an attachment (the default) to an import file. If you change it to an import file, you cannot change it back to an attachment.

    Adding Files to Sections

    1. Navigate to the Sections page. Select Attach Files from the menu of the section you want to update.
    2. Select Seismic, and navigate to the files you want to add. Select the appropriate checkboxes and click Add. When you look at the section, the file will be attached.

    Managing File Updates

    Note: This feature is not available for LiveDocs.

        • If files from Seismic are updated in Seismic, we add a blue dot to the Seismic icon for the files.
        • on the icon to see details about the file and updated it.

    Automatic vs. Manual Updates

    To maximize efficiency, we do not constantly check for updates automatically. It checks when the user s Preview or Download for the file, and it only checks for updates for the same file once per day.

    There are no restrictions if users perform manual updates from the Content Library; we check for updates every time. Users can perform manual updates on files attached to Q&A pairs by selecting Update File from the three-dot menu.

    Exporting a Project to Seismic

    1. Select the More Options > Publish to Seismic.
    2. Specify the file location where the export package should be published. Upload.
    3. When the file is published, you will receive a success message. The export package will appear as a folder. it to see all the files included in the package, including any attachments.

    Support for LiveDocs

    Users with Seismic can attach LiveDocs stored in the Seismic Enablement Cloud to projects, sections, and Q&A pairs. You will be prompted to enter the fields in the LiveDoc, customizing it. When you are finished, the application compiles the finished document and attaches it.

    Tables in LiveDocs

    We also support table values in LiveDocs when generating attachment files for projects and imports. When a Seismic table has variables present, you can add values for those variables in the application.

    1. After you the Attachment icon, select the Seismic option.
    2. Select the file and Next.
    3. Complete the fields as appropriate.
      • The columns listed in the TableField section correspond to the column variables present in the Seismic table.
      • + Add Empty Row to add more values.
      • Edit to either duplicate or delete the row.
      • Drag and drop to reorder the rows.
    4. Generate to generate the LiveDoc and attach it. You can the attachment to see a preview.

    Responsive Federated Search in Seismic

    When you perform a search in Seismic, matches from Responsive will be shown directly in Seismic.

    Admins with access to Organization settings can enable federated search from Organization Settings > Integration > Collaboration > Seismic and select Configure.

    • Navigate to the Responsive tab in Seismic to view matched content.

    • When you select a Responsive search result you will be redirected to Responsive to view the information.
