Using distribution lists

Overview

Distribution lists can be used to communicate with all users at once, rather than sending individual emails. This feature allows you to:

  • Assign a section to a distribution list, so that any user in a group can author or review questions.
  • Use @username distribution lists to post comments to groups of users.

Select the applicable tab for your edition of Responsive.

  • Adding and activating distribution lists

    1. Go to Organization Settings > Users > Manage Users and click Add New.
    2. Enter the distribution list email.
    3. Complete the user details and click Add Users.
    4. Click the Not Verified tab.
    5. Click the group name.
    6. Select Send Activation Code to send a five-digit code to the email addresses associated with the newly added distribution list.
    7. Copy the activation code from the email.
    8. Paste the activation code in the Enter Activation Code window and click Activate.

      • The account is activated and a success message appears at the bottom right of the page.
      • The status is changed from Not Verified to Active.
    9. You can click the Edit icon to update the first and last name (optional).

Using @username to send project comments to distribution lists

Project team members can connect with groups of subject matter experts (SMEs) or users by typing @username, where the user name in the distribution list name, in the Comments field.

A distribution list must added to the project team before you can use this feature to send comments to members of your distribution list.

  • Essentials features are subscription-based and may not be available for all users. Contact your account manager, or accountmanagers@responsive.io, for more details.
