Overview
Salesforce allows you to create proposals from opportunities, leads, or accounts. The steps involved in setting up proposals in Salesforce are:
- Creating proposal links/buttons (this process is similar to creating custom fields in Salesforce)
- Adding the proposal links/buttons to the Opportunity layout
- Creating proposals from Salesforce

Permissions
Users must have the System Administrator privilege in Salesforce and the Company Administrator privilege in Responsive.
Select the applicable tab for your edition of Responsive.

Creating proposal links/buttons
- Click Setup, then scroll to the Build section in the left navigation pane and select Customize.
- Select the object type (Opportunities, for example), then select Buttons, Links, and Actions.
- Click New Button or Link.
- Enter the following values for the fields:
- Label: Enter Create Proposal
- Name: Enter Create Proposal
- Description: Enter Create Proposal
- Display Type: Select Detail Page Button
- Behavior: Select Display in Existing page without Sidebar or Header
- Content Source: Specify as URL
- Select Field Type: Select Opportunity
- Insert Field: Select Insert Merge Field
- Type one of the following in the URL text box:
- If your Salesforce URL is rfpio.ap1.visual.force.com, enter https://rfpio.ap1.visual.force.com/apex/rfpio__CreateNewRfpioProposal?ObjectId={!Opportunity.Id}.
- If your Salesforce URL is rfpio.ap15.visual.force.com, enter https://rfpio.ap15.visual.force.com/apex/rfpio__CreateNewRfpioProposal?ObjectId={!Opportunity.Id}.
- Click Save, then click OK on the alert message that displays.

Follow a similar process for creating Proposal buttons/links for leads and accounts.
Adding proposal buttons/links to the Opportunity layout
Once the Create Proposal button/link is created, the Opportunity layout must be edited to display the newly created button.
- Click the Opportunities tab, select an opportunity, then click Edit Layout.
- Click Buttons, then select Create Proposal and drag and drop it in the Custom Button section.
The added button displays as shown below:
- Click Save.
Creating proposals from Salesforce
Note: Proposal settings must be configured in our application in order to generate proposals from Salesforce.
- From the Opportunities page, click Create Proposal.
- Once you are taken to the Responsive Projects page in Salesforce, specify the required details and select a template.
- Click Generate Proposal. The Preview Proposal pop-up displays.
- Click Generate. The created proposal is exported as a package and displays in Salesforce as shown below:
Creating projects during the proposal creation process
While creating a proposal, you can directly create a project by attaching RFx files and other supporting documents.
Note: You can either use files from Notes and Attachments, or import local files.If an RFx file is uploaded, the Create Project button appears instead of the Generate Proposal button during Step 3 above.
Upon clicking Create Project, a success message appears. To view the project, click Open Project. The project is created and appears in the Projects page of Responsive and is also visible in Salesforce.
- Click Setup, then scroll to the Build section in the left navigation pane and select Customize.
