Microsoft Dynamics 365 integration manual

Overview

Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a paid add-on feature and must be enabled prior to use. Contact your account manager, or accountmanagers@responsive.io, to enable it.

Responsive integrates with Microsoft Dynamics CRM, allowing users to expedite the proposal process and streamline collaboration between revenue and proposal teams. Users can launch proposal projects, track progress, and enable self-service proposal services without ever having to leave Dynamics CRM.

Select the applicable tab for your edition of Responsive.

  • Installing Responsive in Microsoft Dynamics 365

    1. Log into your Microsoft Dynamics 365 Account. Expand the Sales drop-down, then select Settings > Security.

    2. Click Users, then hover to select the box and click Promote to Admin.

    3. Click OK to promote to admin and reload the page.

    4. Click Settings and select Microsoft AppSource.

    5. Type RFPIO CRM in the Search field and click Get it now on Responsive for Dynamics CRM Add-On.

    6. Click Get it now.

    7. Select an environment, check the terms and privacy statement agreement checkboxes, then click Install.

    Verifying Package Installation

    1. Go to Settings and click Solutions.

    2. Verify you can see the Responsive installed package listed in the solutions.

    Publishing Responsive Customizations

    1. Click Settings and select Customizations.

    3. Under Entities, click Responsive Config and check the Settings box.

    4. Click Save.
    5. Click Publish and close the tab after the pop-up.

    Connecting To Responsive Using a Company ID (Optional)

    Users can connect to Responsive with the login options enabled in their organization. Users can also login by specifying the Company ID in the Microsoft Dynamics 365 for single sign-on (SSO).

    SSO Using Company ID

    1. Go to the Extensions section of the Home page and click the Responsive Config.

    2. Click New to create new configuration.

    3. In Responsive, go to Organization Settings > Integration > CRM and click Configure on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM tile.
    4. Click [i] Copy.png to copy the Company ID.

    5. Go back to Microsoft Dynamics 365. 
    6. Type companyId in the Config Field field and paste the company ID in the Config Value field.

    7. Click Save.
    8. Click Connect to Responsive from Objects such as Opportunity, Leads, and Account or from the Responsive Projects, which will help you to login directly to the specific organization.

    Connecting To Responsive Using a Custom Domain

    If you are using Responsive on a custom domain you will need to configure a baseURL field to point to your custom domain.

    1. Go to the Extensions section of the Home page and click the Responsive Config.mceclip23.png
    2. Click baseURL.

    3. Update the Config Value to your Responsive app's URL and click Save icon on the bottom right.

    Managing Intakes from Microsoft Dynamics

    Once your account is connected to Responsive, users can create intakes and projects from Microsoft Dynamics.

    1. Open the object you want to create the intake for. In the example below, the intake is being created with an open Opportunity.

    2. Open the object and click the Responsive Projects tab.

    3. Click Create Intake to create a new intake for this object.

    4. Enter the required details and click Create.

      The created intake will be displayed in Responsive as shown below:
