Overview
Guest users are people who need to provide information as part of a questionnaire but are not part of the Responsive platform.
Anyone, even a third party, can collaborate as a guest.
You need to verify or add legal or governmental responses but the person who can provide that information is not a Responsive user.
Guest permissions
As a guest user, you can view and respond to shared project questions and Content Library questions via the guest Response portal (a stripped down version of the full Responsive platform) and view completed projects via export response packages.
Note: What you can see and do on the portal varies based on the permissions given to you by the Responsive user who assigned it.
- You can only view and answer the questions and sections you've been assigned to along with any existing content in the Response fields of the project; you can't access the entire Content Library or log into Responsive.
- Once you activate your account you'll receive assignment notifications via email instead of within the Responsive platform. The email is sent from Responsive, not the person who assigned it.
Note: You do not need to create a user name or password to access the assignment, simply click the link in the email to open it in a convenient pop-up window.
Responding to project questions
- Open the email from Responsive and click Respond to Section.
- When the guest Response portal opens do the following as necessary:
- Enter responses to questions in the open text fields. You can input rich text such as lists, tables, links, images, and font formatting.
Note: Responses are auto-saved as they are entered. - Click the Attachment icon
to attach a file to a question or section.
- Click the Comment icon
to post comments on questions or sections.
- Click the Menu icon
in the top-left corner to view any additional sections you've been assigned.
- Enter responses to questions in the open text fields. You can input rich text such as lists, tables, links, images, and font formatting.
- Click Submit, then click Submit on the confirmation pop-up to submit your responses and save them within Responsive.

Viewing Content Library questions
- Open the email from Responsive and click View Content.
- When the guest Response portal opens, do the following as necessary:
Note: What you can see and do on the portal is dependent on the permissions given to you by the Responsive user who assigned it.- Click the User icon to view the question owners.
- (Optional) If you have been granted editing rights, click the Edit icon to open the Answer Editor. Make changes as necessary and click Save to submit them back to Responsive for further assessment.
Viewing and downloading export response packages
- Open the email from Responsive and click View Response.
- Review the information on the Project Responses landing page when it opens.
Note: You can only view the responses, not modify them. - (Optional) If the project manager has turned on the option to download the export response package, click Download to download the file.
