Configuring Multi-Column Drop-Downs in Excel

Overview

A multi-column drop down is when there are multiple columns designated for each response. The issuer oftentimes wants you to place an X ;in the column indicating your response from the header above.

Select the applicable tab for your edition of Responsive.

  • Configuring Multi-Column Drop-Downs in Excel

    1. In the Excel file, identify your sections whether within the worksheet cells or the name of the worksheet itself.
    2. Identify your questions.
    3. Identify the columns containing your different answers at take note of their numbers (e.g. columns E,F & G).
    4. In Responsive, select Response Projects and click Create New.
    5. Compete the project meta data.
    6. Click Upload Document, and browse and upload your document. Document will be auto-configured.
    7. Select the Answer column and map it with ANSWER from the right menu options.
    8. The Answer Configuration pop-up appears. Change the Answer Header to Response.
    9. Select Multi-Column Dropdown as Answer Type.
    10. Add the required answer options. You can add multiple options by selecting Add Answer Options and click Save.
    11. Click Save and then Import.
