Mapping Salesforce Custom Fields with Proposal Builder

Overview

Proposal Builder gives you even more control over your proposals with custom field mapping. You can create fields in Salesforce and seamlessly map them to Responsive custom fields.

Permissions

You must have the System Administrator privilege in Salesforce to complete the installation.

Mapping Salesforce Custom Fields with Proposal Builder

Custom fields created in Salesforce should be mapped to Proposal Builder custom fields in Responsive so they appear during proposal creation.

To map a Salesforce custom field to Responsive, follow the steps mentioned below.

Go to Organization Settings > Proposal Builder > Custom Fields and click Create New.

Fill the details on the Create Custom Field popup.

  • Specify the Merge Tag Name.
  • Enter a Display Name for the custom field.
  • Specify a Group Name.
  • Select the Type of the field response.
  • Optionally, you can enter a placeholder text in the Value field, specify a Prefix or Suffix value and a Help Text in the corresponding fields.
  • Check the Show in the Basic Info Page if you want the field to be displayed on the Basic Info page while creating a proposal.
  • Check the Required box to make the field mandatory.
  • Check the Associate with Salesforce (instance name) box to associate the field with Salesforce.
    • A section as shown below is displayed:

    • Select the custom field you want to associate with the object from the Salesforce Fields drop-down list.

  • Uncheck the Editable box to prevent the field from being edited on Responsive.

Click Create. The field displays in the Custom Fields section of the Organization Settings.

While creating a proposal, the mapped fields are indicated with [i] Integration - Salesforce - 02.png as shown below.
