Overview
Ask Responsive is a beta feature for existing AI Assistant customers only. Contact your account manager, or accountmanagers@responsive.io, to enable it.
Ask Responsive is a tool that uses artificial intelligence to provide responses to user-entered questions. It is designed to help you quickly craft responses to proposals, emails and more without sacrificing accuracy.
Select the applicable tab for your edition of Responsive.

Ask Overview
- Click to close the Ask window.
- Click to open the chat in a new window.
- Click to ask a new question.
- Click to see previous conversations (old chats).
- The question you asked.
- The answer generated by AI Assistant. If AI Assistant used a Q&A pair to craft the response, any attachments associated with that pair will be included.
- Click to copy the answer.
- Show or hide the source used by AI Assistant to craft the answer.
- Enter a new question.
AI Assistant crafts responses based on the following:
- If the question matches content in the Content Library, that answer is returned
- If the question is similar to content in the Content Library, the tool will generate an answer based on that content
- If there are no answers in the Content Library, the tool will return an answer generated from white-listed URLs.
Note: If you white list the Responsive Help Center URL help.responsive.io, the tool will search it when generating answers.
Using Ask Responsive
- Click Ask at the top of any page in Responsive.
- Enter your question in the window and click the arrow.
The tool provides the response.
Note: It is very important that you check the responses to make sure they are accurate.
- Click to copy the response, along with any attachments if the source was a Q&A pair with those attachments.
- Click to enter a new chat question, or enter it in the field at the bottom of the window.
Downloading Ask Responsive
You can download Ask Responsive so you can use it when you are not logged in to Responsive. The instructions are slightly different depending on the browser you are using.
Google Chrome
- With the Ask Responsive window open, click to open it in a new browser window.
- Click in your browser bar. When prompted to install the app, click Install.
- Ask Responsive is now included in your apps and you can pin it to the taskbar (optional).
Microsoft Bing
- With the Ask Responsive window open, click to open it in a new browser window.
- Click in your browser bar.
- When prompted to install the app, click Install.
- Ask Responsive is now included in your apps. Customize how you want to access it, then click Allow.
Setting Up Ask Responsive
- Go to Organization Settings > Responsive AI. Click the toggle to enable it.
- Ensure that AI Assistant is enabled, then select the toggle for External Sites to Search (Ask only).
- Enter up to five URLs you want the tool to search when providing material for the generated response. Make sure to enter help.responsive.io as one of the URLs if you want the tool to search the Responsive Help Center.
