You must have AI Assistant enabled in order to use AI Draft.
AI Draft uses advanced Responsive AI to scan all of your trusted content to create a first draft of an RFP, questionnaire, and other responses in minutes. AI Draft improves response accuracy and reduces errors and allows you to personalize responses with desired language, tone and voice for consistency across all responses. This functionality was previously called ‘Bulk Respond’ when it was in beta and is now named ‘AI Draft’.
When a response manager has a number of frequently asked questions and needs to answer them quickly and accurately.
For more information, refer to the AI Draft Academy course.
Generating Responses
Once AI Assistant is enabled, you can use AI Draft to generate responses. See Setting up AI Assistant for enablement information.
Note: You can't use this process for any sections that have been completely answered or have a status of Completed. If there are answered and unanswered questions in a selected section, the process bypasses the answered questions.

To use AI Draft to generate responses, perform the following steps:
- Go to the Sections page and click AI Draft.
- Select the sections or questions you want to include, or click the Section checkbox at the top to select all the sections.
Note: You can click the Switch to legacy Auto Respond link to return to the old Auto Respond process.- You must have permission to update answers other than your own in order to generate responses.
- If the section has been completely answered, or is marked Completed, you can't select the checkbox.
- Click Next.
- Specify the AI instructions you want to use to define the responses generated. Some examples include:
- Context: I want to respond to vendor security questionnaires from our customers and buyers
- Objective: Answer the questions directly, accurately and completely on behalf of Responsive. Customers and buyers should be able to effectively evaluate Responsive's security posture based on the responses
- Style: Follow the writing style of a SaaS security expert who answers the questions directly, with as many technical details as possible without being overly verbose
- Tone: Informative
- Audience: Customers, buyers, vendor risk assessment experts, compliance teams, and legal teams that are evaluating Responsive
- Response: Keep it concise and direct, with sufficient details
- Use the filters, tags, languages, and custom fields to narrow down the Content Library sources the AI should use to craft the responses.
- Click Generate Responses. This processes can take a few minutes based on the number of responses being generated. You can minimize the window so you can work on other tasks if necessary.

- Answer Found: when the Content Library contained an exact match or the information found was sufficiently similar to the question for the AI to generate a complete and accurate response
- Answer Not Found: when the AI could not generate an answer from the Content Library, either due to a lack of relevant content or an inability to find suitable matches
- Partial Answer Found: when the process found multiple types of answers (e.g., two rich text answers or a combination of a drop-down and a rich text answer) in the Content Library but the AI can only provide a response for one of the answer types
- Minimize and close icons. If you close the process, any responses in Pending status will be discarded. Any applied responses cannot be undone.
- Expand all: Click to see expand the questions and responses.
- Click a checkbox to select the response for review, or click the checkbox in the header to select all the responses in that section.

Using section-level filters with AI Draft
AI filters you set at the section level will be considered when someone uses AI Draft. If the user selects a section for which the filters are set, AI Draft will run using the filters. The user cannot change the filter options for those sections.
If no filters have been set at the section level, the filters set at the AI Draft level will be used when generating the response.
Use filters, facets, and advanced search criteria for the following:
- Tags
- Collections
- Languages
Not all filters are supported, and they will be ignored in searches. Supported filters include the following:
- System-defined custom fields
- User-defined Content Library custom fields where:
- Preference is Searchable
- Category is All
- Type is any non-text type
To set up a section-level filter, perform the following steps:
- Click the More Options menu for the section, and then click AI Assistant Filter.
- Set the AI Assistant filters, and then click Save.
- Invoke AI Draft as described previously in this article. When prompted to specify the sections, you will see the Filter icon for every section that has a filter.
AI Draft will use the filters when creating the responses.
Reviewing and applying responses
- Select the checkboxes of the responses you want to review.
- Do the following as necessary:
- Bulk update the tags or flags of those responses, or you can discard or apply the generated responses for them.
Note: If you discard the responses, those questions in the project will not be updated. If you apply the answers, they will. If you apply answers, you cannot undo them. - Add or remove tags and flags by clicking the appropriate button and then selecting the tag or flag as usual.
- Click on a response to see the references used to generate it. Add tags or flags, or discard or apply the individual response.
- Bulk update the tags or flags of those responses, or you can discard or apply the generated responses for them.
- When you are finished reviewing and applying responses, click the X at the top of the page to close it. Any responses that you have not applied will be discarded.
