Overview

For customers who want additional security, Responsive allows customers to provide their own encryption key if they have an account with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Key Management Service (KMS).

FAQs

Is my key validated before use?

Yes. Before saving the key, Responsive validates it before saving it for use.

Where can a validated key be made invalid?

In AWS KMS. The key can be denied, or it can be given an expiration date.

What happens if the key is made invalid?

Data and files cannot be viewed in the Answer Library, Document Library, section templates, projects, and response templates.

What happens if the data has been encrypted and the key is changed in the Organization Settings?

The Answer Library and Document Library will be unavailable. The recommendation panel will not display recommendations, and the Auto-Respond feature will be unavailable.

Can I delete a validated and submitted key?

Not at this time.

Can I remove my key once entered?

Yes. By turning off the BYOK feature in Responsive AI, you'll start using the Responsive default key for AI services.

Should the data be reindexed if the embedding model is changed?

Yes. Please reach out to the support team in case the embedding model is changed from your end.
