Overview
The Translation tool is an add-on feature and must be enabled prior to use. Contact your account manager, or accountmanagers@responsive.io, to enable it.
The Translation Tool is an add-on for your Content Library that can translate your content into many different languages. We support:
- Chinese Simplified
- Chinese Traditional
- Danish
- Dutch
- Finnish
- French
- German
- Greek
- Indonesian
- Italian
- Japanese
- Korean
- Malay
- Norwegian
- Polish
- Portuguese
- Russian
- Spanish
- Swedish
- Thai
- UK English (DeepL only)
- Vietnamese

Permissions
Users must have the Super Admin and Admin role to bulk translate Library content.
Select the applicable tab for your edition of Responsive.

Setting translation preferences
You can set the translation preferences for your company in the Organization Settings.
- Go to Organization Settings > Company Features > Overview settings > Translation Engine.
- Select the preferred translation engine for your organization from the drop-down options.
Note: DeepL Translation Engine users can choose to either use the default key or use their own key.
- Specify the translation usage limit.
Note: For Amazon Web Services (AWS) translations, a maximum of only 4000 characters will be translated. - Click Save.
Translating language at the Q&A pair level
You can translate content, individually or in bulk, from the Q&A Pairs tab in the Content Library.
Translating individual Q&A pairs
- From the Content Library Q&A Pairs tab, select the Q&A pair to be translated, then click the More Options menu and select Translate.
- Select the current language (source language) of the Q&A pair (if applicable) from the Source Language drop-down menu and the language you would like to translate the Q&A pair to from the Target Language drop-down menu, then click Translate to display the translated content.
- Click Add as new Q&A pair to add the translated content as a new Q&A pair, then click Save on the Edit Q&A Pair pop-up. A success message will be displayed.
- The newly added Q&A pair will be displayed in the original Q&A pair as linked content; click the Linked Answer link in the content card to view it.
- Click Show Linked Content to display all linked content (translated content), along with the language in which it is translated.
Translating Q&A pairs in bulk
- From the Content Library Q&A Pairs tab, select the Q&A pairs you want to translate or click Select to select all Q&A pairs.
- Click ...More and select Bulk Translate.
- Select the current language (source language) of the Q&A pair (if applicable) from the Source Language drop-down menu and the language you would like to translate the Q&A pair to from the Target Language drop-down menu, then click Translate to display the translated content.
- Click Translation from the left navigation bar. The Translation pop-up appears.
- Click the Language Review tab to go to the Content Library Translation Queue page and view the content that other users have assigned for your review.
Note: The Translation tab displays be default and contains details such as the target language for translation, count of content available for language review, moved to Content Library, and count of content sent to Moderation.- Once content is assigned for your review, you are also assigned as the owner of that content.
- You can review the content, accept or reject it, and reassign the language review to other users.
- Select the content, then accept or reject by clicking the respective icons on the top navigation bar.
Note: Alternatively, you can click the Accept or Reject buttons on each content card. - A confirmation pop-up appears, when bulk accept is clicked. Click Accept.
- Once the content is accepted, it moves to the moderation page and is displayed under the Translated tab of the Content Library Moderation page.
Note: If the content is rejected, it will be discarded. - Once the content is moderated, the updated count is reflected in the Translation Queue tab.
- Any images or formatting present in the source content are retained in the translated content.
- The maximum character limitation is set by the translation service provider.
- Once the content is accepted, it moves to the moderation page and is displayed under the Translated tab of the Content Library Moderation page.
Assigning language reviewers
You can assign content to other users to review, individually or in bulk, from the Language Review page.
Individually assigning language reviewers
- Click the Language Reviewer icon and enter the user name you want to reassign the content to.
- Click Save.
- Language reviewers will also be added as Owners for this Q&A pair.
- The assigned content will be displayed in their Language Review tab.
Assigning language reviewers in bulk
- From the Content Library Q&A Pairs tab, select the Q&A pairs you want to translate or click Select to select all Q&A pairs.
- Click Language Reviewers. The Advanced Bulk Options pop-up appears with the Language Reviews section.
- Assign new reviewers or remove existing reviewers.
- Click Update.
- Go to Organization Settings > Company Features > Overview settings > Translation Engine.
